This Privacy Policy describes how GAA Game Tracker ("the App") collects, uses, and stores information when you use the Android application or the live score web page.
What information we collect
The App collects the minimum information needed to function:
- Anonymous user identifier — when you open the app, Firebase Authentication automatically assigns your device a random anonymous ID. This is never linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
- FCM push notification token — if you open a shared match link in the app, your device's push notification token is stored temporarily so we can send you live score updates. This token is automatically removed after 30 days or when you close the match.
- Match scores you enter — team names and scores entered during a match are stored in Firebase Firestore so they can be shared in real time. This data is not linked to your identity.
- Anonymous web analytics — the live score web page uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, button clicks, device type). No personally identifiable information is collected.
What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your location
- Your contacts or any other device data
- Any information from other apps
How we use your information
- To deliver live score push notifications to viewers of a shared match
- To store and display match scores in real time
- To understand how the app and web page are used so we can improve them
Data storage and retention
All data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure located in the European Union (europe-west1 region). Match data is retained indefinitely unless deleted. Push notification tokens are automatically expired after 30 days.
Advertising
The App displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
- Your IP address (used to infer approximate location for ad relevance)
- Information about how you interact with ads (clicks, impressions)
- App usage data used to inform ad targeting
This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob's data practices.
Opt out of personalised ads: You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation at any time via your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalisation (earlier Android versions).
Third-party services
The App uses the following Google services, each governed by Google's Privacy Policy:
- Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in)
- Firebase Firestore (match data storage)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
- Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage analytics)
- Firebase Realtime Database (live viewer presence)
- Google AdMob (in-app advertising)
Children's privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App collects no personal information from any user regardless of age.
